Who is responsible
The controller of personal data processed on copenhagen.run is Copenhagen.run, Copenhagen, Denmark. Contact: hello@copenhagen.run.
What we collect and why
- Server logs. Our web server records technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time. We use it to operate and secure the site (legitimate interest) and delete it after a short period.
- Contact form and email. If you contact us, we process your name, email address and message to reply to you (legitimate interest, or steps prior to a contract for advertising enquiries). We keep correspondence only as long as needed.
- No accounts. Copenhagen.run has no user accounts, and we do not sell personal data.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use the following categories. Non-essential categories are used only with your consent, which you can change at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.
- Essential. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser (
cr_consentin local storage). It is necessary to respect that choice. - Statistics. With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, to understand which pages are useful, for example which routes are viewed most. It sets cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) that last up to two years. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and we see only aggregated reports. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. - Advertising. Copenhagen.run is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads, measure performance and, with your consent, personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Without consent, Google may show non-personalised ads, which still use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting where the law allows. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
Where required by law in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, consent for advertising is requested through a consent management platform certified by Google.
Third-party services
- Maps. Route and event maps use the Leaflet library (loaded from unpkg.com) and map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Your browser connects to these servers when you view a map, which reveals your IP address to them. See the OSM Foundation privacy policy.
- Weather. Weather data is requested by our server from Open-Meteo. Your browser does not contact them, and no personal data is shared.
- Outbound links. We link to event organisers, clubs and stores. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.
Transfers outside the EU
Some providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@copenhagen.run. You may also lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.dk).
Changes
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
