Copenhagen Exhaust Trail

The hilliest trail race near Copenhagen: 6, 12 or 21 km through "Danish Switzerland" and Geel Skov, with up to 686 m of climbing.
Copenhagen Exhaust Trail is organised every year by Søllerød Orienteringsklub in the hilly forests just north of the city, known locally as det danske Schweiz, "Danish Switzerland". The 2026 edition, held on 20 June, offered 6 km (179 m of climbing), 12 km (386 m) and 21 km (686 m).
Those numbers are serious for Zealand, and the race is a popular target for Copenhagen runners training for mountain races abroad. The 2027 date had not been announced when we last checked.
Registration
Registration is handled by the organiser, Søllerød Orienteringsklub. Copenhagen.run is not the organiser of this event.
Visitor information
- The forests are reachable by S-train to Holte. Check the organiser's instructions for the race centre.
- Trail shoes are essential: roots, short steep climbs and soft ground.
