A Whit Monday running festival with royal participation, run in five Danish cities at once. The Copenhagen and Frederiksberg edition is already sold out for 2027.
Royal Run is a nationwide running festival held on Whit Monday (2. pinsedag), with members of the Danish royal family taking part. In 2027 it takes place on Monday 17 May in Thisted, Silkeborg, Haderslev, Vordingborg and Copenhagen/Frederiksberg, with room for 102,500 participants.
Participants walk or run one mile, 5 km or 10 km through the city centre. The Copenhagen/Frederiksberg start numbers sold out soon after registration opened on 30 September 2026, but the organisers run an official resale page from 1 October.

Registration is handled by the organiser, Royal Run. Copenhagen.run is not the organiser of this event.
Visitor information
- Only buy start numbers through the official resale on royalrun.dk.
- Mid-May is usually mild (12–18 °C) and the city is packed with spectators. Use the Metro or S-train rather than a car.
