A short harbour loop down the Islands Brygge quay, over Bryggebroen and back along the Kalvebod Wave boardwalk.
This is the shortest way to run both sides of Copenhagen's inner harbour. From the Islands Brygge end of Langebro, run south along the quay, past the harbour bath and the long lawns of Havneparken, to Bryggebroen, the pedestrian and cycle bridge.
Cross to the Fisketorvet side and run back north along Kalvebod Brygge, detouring onto Kalvebod Bølge, the angular wooden boardwalk that juts into the water. Langebro brings you back across the harbour to the start.
In summer the Islands Brygge quay is the city's beach: swimmers, picnics and music. It is worth finishing with a dip in the harbour bath, which is open from early June to August.
Highlights
- Havnebadet Islands Brygge harbour bath
- Bryggebroen
- The Kalvebod Wave boardwalk
Practical notes
- Exposed to wind along the water.
- Bryggebroen is shared with heavy bike traffic: stay in the pedestrian lane.
- Boardwalk sections can be slippery when wet.
Getting to the start
Metro M1/M2 to Islands Brygge, then a 5-minute walk to the quay. Several buses cross Langebro.
