A 10K from Østerport through the new harbour district of Nordhavn to the city beach at Svanemølle, returning through Østerbro and Fælledparken.
Nordhavn is Copenhagen's newest neighbourhood, built on old harbour land north of Kastellet, and this route shows how the city is still growing towards the sea. From Østerport station, head north past the cruise-ship quays and out to the Sandkaj waterfront on Nordbassinet.
Continue north to Svanemøllestranden, a small sandy city beach with a long jetty, popular for morning swims all year round. The return runs through the residential streets of Østerbro to Fælledparken and back along Øster Allé to Østerport.
It is a good, flat 10K that mixes harbour, beach and city, and it is easy to shorten by catching an S-train home from Svanemøllen station.
Highlights
- The Sandkaj quay in Nordhavn
- Svanemøllestranden city beach
- Fælledparken
Practical notes
- Several street crossings in Østerbro: watch the cycle tracks.
- Construction work in Nordhavn can change paths at short notice.
- Windy on the waterfront sections.
