A short, flat lap of Copenhagen's biggest park, home of the marathon finish, DHL Stafetten and a Saturday parkrun.
Fælledparken on Østerbro is the centre of Copenhagen's running life. The marathon and the half marathon finish beside it, DHL Stafetten fills it for a week every August, and a free parkrun is held here every Saturday morning.
This loop follows the paths around the edge of the park: along Øster Allé past Parken stadium, round the southern tip near Rigshospitalet, up the western side by Nørre Allé and back from the northern corner at Vibenhus Runddel. At around 2.4 km it is ideal for repeats, a warm-up before a session, or a first run in the city.
Highlights
- The Saturday parkrun atmosphere
- Fælledsøen lake
- Parken, the national stadium
Practical notes
- Very busy on race and concert days, when sections may be fenced off.
- Lit along the main paths.
- Add laps of the inner paths to make it longer.
Getting to the start
Metro M3 (City Circle) to Trianglen, Poul Henningsens Plads or Vibenhus Runddel. All three are on the edge of the park.
